Fortigate Sizing Guide

Hello there,

Im having 2 x fiber broadband of 800Mbps , estimating around 200 -250 devices connecting to the network (estimation of 100+ person with 2 devices each at full capacity), 10 VPN clients access, 1 server ( mostly use for payroll system, accounting software, door access/ip cam nvr & asset management system only) and 6 wireless access points.

anyone here has any idea which FG model is suitable for the mentioned environment above? hope to get a FG model that can fully utilise on the broadband speed of 2x 800Mbps.

Hope to have some ideas from you guys. Much appreciated.

It really depends on what feature sets you need and what you see as the likely growth over the expected lifetime of the unit (somewhat a question of what you budget for it, but generally 5 years is a good goal due to feature changes over time).  For a basic stateful firewall you could easily get by with a 60F, but if you expect to do much else then you'll probably want to look at the 100F or even higher.  Technically you need a 300E just to do the bandwidth you're describing with all the features turned on (all the way up to and including SSL inspection), and that doesn't necessarily allow for growth.

The data sheets are really pretty good at giving you the info you need if you make sure to look at all the details presented.
