Hard disk dead FA100B

Hi all,

I've a FortiAnalyzer 100 and the hard disk is dead. Could someone tell me the process to change the dead drive for a new one? Does it need to be the same size? Or can it be smaller?

The error I have on the FA is here. I've tried check and rebuild it but nothing.

Have you tried removing and reinstalling that drive? That may buy you some time.

Thanks for the reply. I was going to but my question is does the drive need to be the same size? Or can it be smaller than the original? Once the new drive is installed what commands do I need to run to prepare the drive?

Cheers,

Rob

I've tried installing a 80GB drive and a 40GB drive but I get this error message.

(MAINT) (READ-ONLY) FortiAnalyz~# exec formatlogdisk

Unable to locate media for formatting.

*** Is the disk present and properly connected?

formatext3disk.c:23 ERR=-2006

Missing disk.  Is the disk present and properly connected?

I notice a capacity at EC13 slightly bulging at the top and not sure if this could be damaged. Is there a motherboard manual somewhere where I can check what that capacitor does?
