Forticlient EMS Licencing

I have an EMS server that has 600 licences installed but has reached the maximum license count.

I have purchased another 100 licences, registered on the Fortinet portal and downloaded the license file.

However, when I try and load the 100 they replace the 600 licences so I only have a total of 100 licences!

I need to be able to add the 100 to the existing 600 licences.

Anyone managed to do this?

Solved this issue.

Once you have purchased EMS licences and installed on your server, you cannot simply buy additional licences and add them to the server as the new license will just replace the licence you have installed and the new count will be the value of the last licence installed.

In my case went from 600 to 100!

When you purchase additional licences, you have to request an upgrade licence which Fortinet then co-term with your existing licence so it will expire on the date the original licence expires.

Fortinet will then update your licence file in the portal.

Download the new licence file and install and then you now have the correct number of licences installed.
