FortiClient on MAC OS 10.14

We are seeing problems with the FortiClient for Mac OSX 10.14 Mojave.

First of all, the installer from https://forticlient.com/downloads starts up and then fails to fetch the actual software during installation. (On OSX 10.11 we don't see that problem). The Fortinet Support has advised to use the installer from the directory where Firmware Images for the FortiGate are distributed. That one worked fine during installation.

However, on one  MacBook the CPU load often reaches 100% for several minutes and the GUI stays gray after launching the FortiClient. One can however, open an SSL VPN connection (that's what we are interested in) by blindly clicking into the empty window.

Does anyone have experience with the unresponsive GUI and can point us in a direction how to solve this problem?

Thanks in advance,

Martin

We use FC on numerous versions of MacOS and we've found the quality of code 'varies'! Although I've not seen the greyed out GUI I get frequent questions about FC hogging the CPU. To be fair upgrading to 6.0.x seems to have largely fixed this but 6.0.3 came with a host of other issues, which were fixed in 6.0.5

I've experienced the same issues with the high CPU. Without any reason from what I can see. No scans running, not using VPN etc.

Bit of a long shot but have you tried this? Maybe FC is busy trying to do something it doesn't have the correct privs to do....
