500E HA Pair - Copy Config to New Out of Box Pair of 500Es

Hi.  New to Fortigate so excuse what may be a simple question.

I have a pair of 500E's that are in a HA pair.  I didn't build the cluster but have full admin access to it.

I need to replicate that config (with some minor IP address changes etc) on a new pair of 500E's in another location wher ethe stack and interconnections are identical.  The new 500E's are still boxed so will be clean config with no HA etc.

What is the best way of getting the config from A to B so by the end I have a HA pair in the new location with the old  config applied from which I can then start tweaking IP addresses etc to make it unique for that site?

Thank you

Welcome to the forums.

If the models are the same, insure the firmware levels are the same, backup the running, and restore to new.

That's it. Be aware that the IP addresses will be the same, so some tweaking will be needed before they are brought online. Also be aware that you will have to restore each individually and change the HA setting on each so they will mate.

Thanks for the quick response.

Modes are identical and I'll make sure firmware is as well.

Are there any pitfalls I need to be aware of as I'm backing up a HA pair and restoring to new out of the box so no HA yet setup?  Do I need to backup each FW in the cluster separately or just backup the cluster?

Thanks - and sorry, sometimes you can't see the wood for the trees :)
