Forticlient installed but does not show in Add a VPN Connection list in Win 10

Hi, I am trying to use Forticlient (as instructed by my employer) to connect to my work's network via VPN. The instructions tell me to install Forticlient (done) then go to Settings, Network & Internet, VPN, Add a VPN Connection, then select Forticlient from the VPN Provider from the drop down list. However, Forticlient does not appear in the list. Any ideas what might be causing this?

Many thanks,

Carlos

These instructions are wrong if you install this FortiClient (e.g. www.forticlient.com). This client client can work in managed / standalone mode. After installation you should see the FortiClient icon on your desktop / startmenu.

With this program you can configure SSL / IPsec VPN connections.

Hi Carlos,

did you mean you can't find VPN tunnel in forticlient? On the left panel, click "Remote access" and config your remote access VPN here. If you didn't configure any VPN before, you should click the gear icon and select "Add a new connection" and follow the guide. Keep in touch!

Hi Carlos

the instruction only works for the "lite" FortiClient which you can find in the Microsoft Store: https://www.microsoft.com...productId/9WZDNCRDH6MC

This Client only works on Windows 10.

Hello

I'm having the same issue as Carlos, installed the lite version from Microsoft Store, and the "FortiClient" VPN provider is still missing from the list. any ideas? Did you ever find a solution Carlos?

Thanks

Hello Sam which list? The client can only be used from the new Windows 10 Control Panel. Look at: https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/90305-set-up-add-vpn-connection-windows-10-a.html -> "option one" under "VPN provider" the point "FortiClient" must appear. Greetings Marco

After having the same issue on my desktop but not on my laptop I have kept coming back to this issue several times throughout a year. I think many will continue to look at this dead thread. I got my problem solved thanks to the last comment at https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/missing-wan-miniports-after-upgrade/3efe0faa-f...

"Remote Access Connection Manager" service was disabled for me. As soon as I set it to manual/automatic from under Properties of the service, the FortiClient option popped up in the VPN list.
