sslvpn hangs at 98% with windows 8.1 OS

Hello, I am trying to find an answer for the following issue: We have a customer with clients who use Windows 8.1 who need to make vpn connections via sslvpn. When establishing the tunnel the software ' hangs' at 98 procent. the Fortigate log shows that the sslvpn times out after 1 minute, exactly the time the software keeps on 98procent. the windows client log shows: The user SYSTEM dialed a connection named fortissl which has failed. The error code returned on failure is 692. Does anyone has a solution for this? With kind regards, Ralph Willemsen

Hi, What is the version of the FGT and the client? Are you using the the thin sslvpn client of the FortiClient? You can use the debug commands to find out some more info from CLI: diagnose debug reset diagnose debug application sslvpn -1 diagnose debug enable --- try to connect --- after debugging turn of the debug and reset it! diagnose debug disable diagnose debug reset Also you can try to run the SSLVPN client as Administrator.

Thanks AtiT for the tip on installing/running as administrator. Although this didn' t seem to address our problem, it got us going in the right direction. (crosspost) We had a similar problem with a Windows 8.1 client. He had an older version of FortiClient SSL VPN installed and had upgraded. Fix: Uninstall client. Reboot. Reinstall client. In the process we also disabled UAC, but I don' t expect this was the fix. Left UAC at the 2nd to the lowest setting (one notch above the completely disabled setting).
