youtube videos start playing, then error out.

Youtube videos keep erroring out. My teachers group has access to youtube. starting last friday, youtube videos stopped working. The page comes up, and the video starts playing, but after a few seconds, the message " An error occurred, please try again later" comes up. This happens for myself as well, and I am only blocked from porn. I do not have application control running, so that' s not it. I have updated flash, and rebooted the pc' s.

What firmware version?
v5.0, build 6216 (GA) I know there is a 5.0.4 out there, but was going to wait until this got resolved to upgrade, since it worked before. If 5.0.4 fixes it (and is known to fix this problem in particular) I will upgrade.

If this was 4.0 MR3 I' d say check the protocol options to see if you are blocking HTTP/HTTPS content > the size limit. If there is web caching put in place you may want to exclude youtube (any another other domains related to it) from being caching.

We aren' t doing any caching (that I know of). I' ve never seen those protocol options you showed, and I don' t see them at all in 5.0.

Well, I thought this was a pc issue, but apparently it' s not. I had one of my level 1 tech' s reimage the pc, and the error continues. Gonna start looking at either switch issues, or bad network cable. This is the only pc I am having the issue on, so I don' t believe it' s a filter issue.

If it' s just one pc it' s most likely a local issue. I would also disable any end-poit AV/MAlware protection while you trouble-shoot. I' ve seen problem with AV/MAlware protections in some unique & weird cases.

As for YouTube play errors like "An error occurred, please try again later", you can try to reconnect the network; restart YouTube; restart the computer; remove some addon like Ad-Block (if you have added it); change a YouTube profile; clear browser data and catch and more.
