make sure you have the default gateway set right on the network disk.
without it, it wont route back unless you have the NAT enabled on the

under the GUI menu, where you setup the syslog (Log&Report -> log
config) instead of configuring the syslog, configure the Fortilog
instead. it provides more info (glorified syslog basically)
