Fortigate 60 Block Mac Address

Hello ! We have a network that is about 100 computers, and in windows some of us get an IP conflict address but when i check the windows log : The system detected an address conflict for IP address 192.168.1.50 with the system having network hardware address 00:1d:e0:44:0e:20 . Network operations on this system may be disrupted as a result. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. I further check in Fortigate on Address Leases in fortigate i have : 192.168.1.199 00:1d:e0:44:0e:20 Thu Dec 1 09:01:24 2008 192.168.1.158 00:1d:e0:44:0e:20 Thu Dec 1 08:58:19 2008 How can i block this MAC address in Fortigate 60 so i can find out who the person is when he comes running to the IT dep ?

The two MAC addresses are different. What' s the point?? I' m confused....

Sry i wrote wrong MAC address, it is corrected now.

The MAC address ending in :20 may have a hard coded IP address set up. DHCP should not lease that address out. I would hunt down that unit and have a good look-see into why it' s conflicting. If it is set at a DHCP address, look into if there is perhaps another active DHCP server in the network. (' ipconfig /all' from a windows command prompt will tell you the DHCP server address) Good luck

OK, found the problem it was a wireless NIC card that had gone beserk so vi disabled it, maybe some new drivers will help. But is there still a way to block a MAC address ?
