FortiGate 500E EOS

We are looking forward to renewing our expiring license for FortiGate 500E. The licenses we have now are:

  • FortiCare Support
  • Firmware & General Updates
  • Intrusion Prevention
  • Antivirus
  • Web Filtering
  • Email Filtering
  • Outbreak Prevention
  • FortiSandbox Cloud

All of these will expire on the 15th of November 2023. We want to renew these licenses for another 3 years in advance, covering the period from 15th November 2023 until 15th November 2026. We got some reply that it can only be until 15th July 2026 due to FortiGate 500E EOS.

My question is:

1. What happens after it reached EOS? We won't be able to continue using it?

2. Will all of these licenses end at 15th July 2026?

Hi @Duckmangga ,

To reply your questions:

>>1. What happens after it reached EOS? We won't be able to continue using it?
>>2. Will all of these licenses end at 15th July 2026?

End of Support Date (EOS): The final milestone in the lifecycle is the End of Support date. After this date Fortinet, will not sell, manufacture or improve the product and is under no obligation to provide support services (https://support.fortinet.com/Download/Fortinet_Life_Cycle_Policy.pdf ).
Once the EOS date is reached, all licenses will expire and it will not be possible to renew them. All services associated with those licenses will stop working or will not work as expected and you might not be able to receive support for that.
You can find more details in the PDF document related to your product (you need to be logged in):
