Email Filter to outgoing mail

A quick query... Has anyone experience of using the email filter to filter outbound mail? All FortiGate documentation I have been reading is only referencing incoming mail, to stop spam to internal users... Has anyone implemented an email filter profile to outbound mail to stop their network from spamming others e.g. if a user was to become infected with a virus?

Hi, we have a customer ho requested to discard SMTP in the antispam profile. In the logs I cannot see any blocked SMTP due to spam.

Filtering of Outgoing mail is a Feature in FortiMail. I am not sure of Fortigate. You can apply AV Filter to outgoing SMTP Traffic which will filter Viruses. Regarding SPAM we can check for content only...Reputation & heuristics will not work
