FortiDDoS memory info and comparison 200B vs 400B

Hello team,

First of all can I ask the memory size for 400B, 600B and 800B appliances? I'm asking because there are two different informations (8 GB and 32 GB) in two different hardware schematic ppts..

The second question is about comparison between 200B and 400B models. As I understand there is no differences between internal hardware components (memory, cpu, ASIC  etc), both have same hardware. So there is no performance advantages of 400B vs 200B, It just has more networks interfaces and be able to protect much more segments but no advantages about perf,  is it true?

Thanks.

The amount of RAM has nothing to do with the performance of the system.  FortiDDoS detection and mitigation is done 100% in the TP2 ASICs. There is no RAM-resident code that is used for any mitigation. The RAM is only used for configuration and reporting data, so the data plane (ASICs) and the control plane (RAM) are completely independent.

The FDD-200B has 1/2 the throughput of the 400B. 3Gbps total bandwidth vs. 6Gbps total bandwidth.  Please refer to the attached data sheet.

To satisfy your curiosity:

200B/400B/600B/800B: 8GB + 16GB flash + 480GB SSD
900B/1000B/1200B: 32GB +16GB SSD + 480GB SSD
200B: 1xTP2 at 1/2 performance
400B: 1xTP2
600B/800B: 2 x TP2
900B/1000B: 3 x TP2
1200B: 6 x TP2
